A 20-year-old woman’s dreams of a bright future were shattered in an instant. Just weeks after her wedding in late 2024, she now lies in critical condition following a devastating train accident in the Poznan suburbs.
On January 9, at around 5 p.m., her car collided with a freight train at an unguarded crossing. Despite a visible “STOP” sign, the vehicle entered the tracks and was struck on the passenger side. Emergency crews freed her from the wreckage and airlifted her to hospital, where she remains in intensive care with severe cranial injuries.
“This is a preventable tragedy,” said a police spokesperson. “Drivers must always stop and check crossings.”
