UPDATE Shocking! Parents Appeal “Too Harsh” Sentence for Abusing 2-Month-Old Daughter

In a shocking turn of events, the parents of two-month-old Laura, who were sentenced to seven years in prison for their horrific abuse, are now appealing the sentence, claiming it’s too harsh. Yes, you read that right – they think seven years is excessive for the brutal mistreatment of their defenseless baby girl. Their lawyer argues that the punishment handed down is “draconian.” Seriously?

Damian H. and Wiktoria G. were convicted on Monday, September 9, for bullying with particular cruelty. Both received seven-year sentences, along with a three-year ban on contacting their daughter after their release. The court also banned them from working in any professions involving minors for the same period. However, it seems this isn’t enough for them or their lawyer, who believes the punishment is too much. It begs the question – have these people even met real parents?

Let’s break it down. When little Laura cried at night, instead of comforting her, these two monsters jerked her, beat her face, head, and buttocks, threw her on the bed, choked her, and screamed at her. Her father caused bleeding in her brain and fractured her skull, while her mother broke her collarbone by throwing her onto the bed. All of this inflicted unimaginable pain on their infant daughter. And now they think seven years is too much?

The nightmare came to light when Laura suffered a seizure and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors discovered the extent of her injuries. Judge Dorota Wojtkowiak-Mielicka made it clear during sentencing that the cruelty involved was off the charts. Had doctors not intervened, it’s likely Laura wouldn’t have survived.

And yet, the defense’s argument is that Damian and Wiktoria, who have mild mental retardation, didn’t fully understand what they were doing. Their lawyer, Karolina Skrzypczyńska, claims that the mother’s upbringing in a “pathological family” where alcohol and violence were routine makes her incapable of recognizing her actions as violent. Really?

In the interview, Skrzypczyńska stated, “The act of the accused parents is shocking, but this would not happen in a normal family. My client comes from a family where beating children was a natural educational method.” So, because violence was normalized in her past, she didn’t see it as wrong? How is that supposed to make anyone feel better about what happened?

The defense is gearing up to appeal the ruling, believing that these two individuals deserve less time behind bars. But the reality is, no sentence could ever truly account for the pain and trauma inflicted on Laura.

One thing’s for sure: parents who treat their children like this have no business appealing anything, let alone asking for a lighter sentence. And as for their defenders – we’d bet they don’t have kids of their own because they clearly have no clue what it means to protect, nurture, or love a child.

As the appeal process moves forward, one can only hope that the courts will see this for what it is – a desperate attempt to evade real justice.
