Marino Bistro is easily one of the best Italian restaurants in Poznan!

A bistro is defined as a small, casual restaurant with a relatively inexpensive, simple menu. Though often a French restaurant, it doesn’t have to be, and not every bistro serves French food. One of our favorite new bistros in Poznan is Italian! Marino Bistro is located on Poznanska 50 Street in the heart of Poznan in the well-known culinary haven district of Jezyce. Run by Livio Marino and his son Jakub by his side, Marion Bistro has quickly become a hit with the locals serving some of the best Italian food in Poznan.

The restaurant was opened in September 2022 and is the brainchild of Livio who started his journey in gastronomy in his family establishment in Savona by the coast, which is found in the Liguria region in Italy. His father Nicola, back in the day, left Naples with his then-fiancée Anna, opened Pizzeria da Nicola and the rest is history. The restaurant was established in the 1950s and is still going strong to this day.

Having arrived in Poznan four years ago, Livio missed the restaurant business and strived to show the locals true Italian culinary culture and hospitality garnished with good-selected wine. You can catch up on the family history in a book that awaits each customer as they walk through the doors. A nice touch!

When it comes to the menu at Marino Bistro, they primarily serve dishes with fresh seafood, as befits the region of Liguria whose Mediterranean coastline is known as the Italian Riviera. The menu includes dishes such as the Risotto Nero della Riviera Ligure. A Black Risotto with Seafood- a harmony of the delicacy of risotto and the distinctiveness of the taste of the sea. Delicious!

Another interesting and top-awarded dish in the Tastes of Poznań County competition is a new interpretation of beef tartare. ‘Tartare in tacos in grana’ which is served in cheese tacos with Grana Padano accompanied by fried egg yolk and tomato sauce.

We also recommend you ask them for something that’s not on the current menu but if you ask nicely they will prepare it for you. A real feast for seafood gourmets in the form of Calamari e gamberi alla piastra con caponata di verdure” in a word, grilled squid and shrimp accompanied by vegetable caponata. Absolutely delicious and definitely some of the best Italian food in Poznan!

Don’t just take our word for it though, pay them a visit and try them for yourselves. They are open Wednesday – Thursday from 16:00 to 21:00, Friday – Saturday from 13:00 – 10:00, and Sunday from 12:00 – 20:00. It might be an idea to book ahead of time as they can get busy! Here’s the number 539 968 319. Enjoy!
