Poznań saw one of its most bizarre incidents in recent memory early Sunday morning, when a man broke into an automatic flower dispenser — not to destroy it, but seemingly to take the flowers without paying.
According to the video, the thief appeared to come prepared, wearing gloves and carrying what looked like a hammer, which he used to force access to the machine.
Instead of a quick card payment like everyone else, the situation turned into a strange midnight break-in involving bouquets meant for last-minute gifts, dates, and apologies.
It’s unclear what motivated the act — desperation, lack of money, or perhaps an urgent attempt to impress someone. Still, it raises an awkward question: if those flowers were gifted to someone, would the meaning change if they knew how they were obtained?
No matter the intent, it’s easily one of the most unusual thefts Poznań has seen in a long time — part romance, part chaos, and completely unexpected.
