Poznan Daily Awards La Bottega: Best Italian Restaurant of the Year 2025

Hey Poznan!

Poznań Daily is officially stepping into new territory this year. For the first time ever, we’re rolling out our Top of the Top list – our handpicked favorites from all the spots we’ve eaten, stretched, sipped, and swung tennis rackets at in 2025. We’ve clocked in serious hours (and serious calories) doing the research. And after much debate, more than a few espresso-fueled arguments, and some tight jeans that no longer button, we’re kicking things off with the Best Italian Restaurant in Poznań 2025.

Drum roll, please…

La Bottega

Yeah, you read that right. This Italian powerhouse just a stone’s throw from Półwiejska Street took the crown.

The Masterminds

Owners Agnieszka and Alberto – who met by chance in Warsaw back in 2018 – brought their passion, their charm, and their ridiculously good food to this buzzing street, now lined with heavy hitters like Muga and YetzTu. But La Bottega shines bright, with a mix of top-notch dishes, welcoming vibes, and the kind of service that makes you feel like a VIP, whether you’re dropping in with a reservation or undercover like some of us did (yes, we actually do stealth foodie missions).

Let’s not forget: earlier this year, we broke the story on their balcony seating – probably the most romantic perch in the city during sunset. That spot got so popular, you now need a reservation three weeks in advance. Lovebirds, plan ahead.

How We Voted

So, how did they snag the Best Italian 2025 title? We judged on menu magic, flavor fireworks, service style, decor, and the way they’ve grown since their early days on Św. Michała Street. Honestly, Poznań’s Italian scene is next-level right now, but La Bottega had it all.

Our Top Picks

Now, let’s talk food. Because we know that’s what you’re really here for. But before the forks hit the plates, we actually sat down with Agnieszka herself and the menu – which, by the way, reads more like a love letter to Italian flavors than your standard food list. Together, we walked through the highlights, swapped stories about dishes that had fans lining up, and tried not to drool on the table while deciding what to order. With Agnieszka guiding us like a culinary DJ dropping the right tracks at the right moment, we picked out what turned into our top three showstoppers.

Pizza Pick: Pizza Matilde

Here’s the story: Agnieszka and Alberto’s cat, Matilda, comes to the restaurant every day and has her own little hidden room. Sadly, she hasn’t been well, so they created a pizza in her honor – and let us tell you, it’s pure feline-approved heaven. Think mozzarella, prosciutto crudo, slow-cooked cherry tomatoes, parmesan sauce, burrata, and fresh basil. A flavor combo so perfectly balanced, if Matilda could talk, she’d probably demand royalties.

Pasta Pick: Pappardelle alla Bottega

Warning: once you’ve had this dish, it’ll haunt your foodie dreams. Pappardelle (that’s those wide, ribbon-like pasta strips perfect for soaking up rich sauces) comes dressed with tender chunks of beef tenderloin, marinated overnight in – of course – Italian red wine. Add porcini mushrooms and a spicy tomato-parmesan sauce, and boom – you’ve got the pasta equivalent of a mic drop. We asked them to tone the spice down a notch, and it was perfection. At 69 PLN, it feels like a steal; honestly, we’d pay 169 PLN for it without blinking.

Dessert Pick: Dolce del Giorno

We usually rave about their tiramisu (probably the best in town), but this time, we rolled the dice on their Sweet of the Day. And wow. Alberto’s the dessert mastermind here, and what he served up was basically tiramisu’s cooler, gourmet cousin: tiramisu ice cream with a silky espresso reduction sauce (that’s coffee turned into a syrupy, flavor-punched drizzle) on a gluten-free chocolate base kissed with amaretto essence (non-alcoholic, so everyone’s invited). This is the kind of dessert that makes you forget your name for a minute.

Wrapping Up

So here we are: declaring, with full stomachs and even fuller hearts, that La Bottega is Poznań Daily’s Best Italian Restaurant of 2025.

Agnieszka and Alberto, from your early days off the beaten track to your now-iconic spot on Krysiewicza, you’ve kept the passion alive, and we’re proud to celebrate you. Here’s to more sunsets on that balcony, more Matilde pizzas, and more excuses for us to keep “researching.”

Top of the Top, baby. Poznań – go eat your way through it.
