Idiots
If you’re gonna commit a heist, maybe — just maybe — don’t leave behind your entire CSI starter pack, complete with DNA, weapons, jewelry, and your phone still buzzing with “bro, we got the cash” messages. But hey, who are we to question greatness?
Let’s rewind.
Sometime in mid-April, a security guard was doing his regular run, picking up the day’s takings from a large Poznań store. Like every scene straight out of a cheap Netflix crime flick, he headed to the bank’s drop box — you know, to do his job.
Dumb & Dumber
According to Maciej Święcichowski from the Poznan Police, this is when two geniuses decided to make their big move. They ambushed the guard, beat him up, snatched the cash, and peeled out in a getaway car, probably feeling like kings of the underworld.

But plot twist: they ditched the car without torching it. Not even a lil’ bonfire for dramatic effect. First rookie mistake. Didn’t anyone tell them that burning the evidence is Heist Rule No. 1?
Police quickly found the car and gave it the forensic spa treatment. And oh boy — jackpot. From there, it was a domino effect of dumb. Surveillance footage? Check. But guess what? The dynamic duo forgot to wear masks sometimes.
The evidence trail led straight to Warsaw. On May 19, cops rolled up and slapped the cuffs on two men, aged 31 and 37 — who clearly skipped Heist School 101. Inside their crib? Firearms, jewelry, ski masks (only useful if you actually wear them, guys), and mobile phones filled with self-snitching texts.

Oh, and PLN 20,000 in cash from the robbery At this point, the police probably didn’t need to investigate. They just followed the breadcrumbs of bad decisions.
What now?
They are being charged with robbery and charges for illegal possession of weapons. Both are on a three-month timeout in jail, courtesy of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Poznań.
So let’s all give a big round of applause 👏 for 2025’s most ambitiously incompetent criminals (so far)!
