MERISÙ LANDS IN POZNAŃ: THE OWNERS TELL US WHAT’S COMING

Poznań is about to get a little sweeter. Merisù, the tiramisu concept that has recently expanded to Wrocław and Kraków, opens its new spot at Półwiejska 18 on October 3 — and it’s betting that doing one thing exceptionally well is more interesting than doing twenty things reasonably well.

We spoke to the owners at their new store in Wroclaw ahead of the opening to find out why they decided to build an entire brand around one Italian dessert.

The idea actually goes back to Rome in 2016, when they realised tiramisu could be more than something arriving quietly at the end of dinner.

“We saw it could be an experience, not just a dessert.”

That idea eventually became Merisù. Tradition remains the starting point, but the team says they’ve made their tiramisu “lighter and fresher,” with different flavours built around the classic. If you’re visiting for the first time, though, they insist there’s only one place to start: the Classic.

What really separates Merisù is the Tiramishow®. Rather than disappearing into a kitchen, the tiramisu is prepared live in front of customers — something that’s become as much a part of the brand as the dessert itself.

“We realised it had become an experience when people started filming the preparation before taking the first bite.”

Even the name has family behind it. Merisù combines “Meri” with tiramisù, with Meri coming from Maria — a name connecting generations of the owner’s family.

And Poznań gets a pretty good excuse to test all of this immediately. For opening day only, Merisù is offering 50% off its entire menu in Regular and Grande sizes, with a maximum of five portions per person.

Merisù Poznań opens October 3 at 12:00, Półwiejska 18.

Come hungry. And apparently, have your camera ready.
