Tragic!

A tragic discovery was made in Poznań on Wednesday afternoon after passersby found the body of a young girl in bushes near the St. Roch Bridge by Wartostrada.

Police say the victim is likely 15-year-old Amelia from Grodzisk Wielkopolski, who had been reported missing earlier this week.

According to officers, Amelia was last seen on May 19 at around 8:30am when she left home for school. Investigators say she later left school at approximately 11:45am, bought a train ticket and travelled to Poznań.

The body was discovered at around 4:40pm on May 20.

Police, forensic technicians and prosecutors were sent to the scene, with authorities confirming that the exact circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death are still under investigation.

After the discovery, the District Police Headquarters in Grodzisk Wielkopolski released a statement confirming that the search had ended tragically and asked the public to avoid spreading speculation or unconfirmed information online out of respect for the girl’s family.
