The Ticket Problem Nobody Is Talking About

Not exactly a ranking to be proud of.

Across Poland, over 260,000 people a year are travelling without paying, leaving behind a mountain of 366 million zł in unpaid fines. And the fastest-growing problem? The youngest riders.

Under-18 debt has more than doubled in a year — now reaching 1.2 million zł. Some individuals are already carrying debts in the thousands, with records climbing as high as 23,000 zł.

And Poznan is right in the spotlight
It ranks #2 in Poland for fare dodgers:

38,400 people in debt

74.3 million zł unpaid

Only Łódź is ahead.

It raises a question about a generation often described as expecting everything instantly, sometimes even for free — and what happens when that mindset meets real-world consequences.

Because in the end, even small decisions can snowball fast.
