Yo Poznan!
She looked like the last person you’d suspect — a quiet cleaner, mother of three, and widow from a Poznań housing estate. But behind that calm, everyday face was something darker. On October 27, Małgorzata R. stood before a Poznań court, accused of murdering two elderly women — including her own aunt. She’s confessed.

It all started in 2012.
81-year-old Janina was celebrating her birthday in her 14th-floor flat at Wichrowe Wzgórze. That morning, neighbors heard her cry out:
“What are you doing to me? I love you so much.”
A few hours later, she was found dead — beaten and stabbed. The killer had taken her jewelry and cash, leaving just one clue: a mysterious third glass on the kitchen table.
The case went cold. Then in 2023, Poznań’s “X-Files” team rechecked old fingerprints. Boom — match found. It belonged to Małgorzata, who’d been in Janina’s home that day… wishing her happy birthday.

But that wasn’t her only secret.
Just months later, 82-year-old Łucja was found murdered in her basement in the Podolany district — smashed with a hammer and axe. DNA later revealed the killer: her niece, Małgorzata.
When cops caught her, she tried to blame her dead husband. But her fingerprints and blood traces told the real story. Calm, methodical, and terrifyingly precise — this wasn’t rage, it was control.

The Verdict
Experts found her sane, just broken in all the wrong ways. Prosecutors want life in prison. The verdict drops October 31 — fittingly, on Halloween.
