Poznań’s Piano House: Where Legends Shop & Rookies Begin

Hey Poznan!

At Poznań Daily, we’re always tuned in to what you guys ask for – where to eat, where to stretch, where to sip the best coffee. But sometimes, there’s a spot in this city that doesn’t just deserve a mention, it deserves full-on applause. This time, our radar took us somewhere different: pianos.

Yeah, you heard right.

The Piano House

Meet The Piano House on Św. Wojciech 7/8, the headmaster of all things piano in Poznań. This isn’t just a shop; it’s a temple where second-hand pianos are restored to their original glory. No factory-fresh models here – only instruments with history, character, and a new lease of life thanks to the hands and heart of owner Bohdan Szydzisz.

Bohdan has built a powerhouse that draws in not only Poznań locals but artists from across Poland and even overseas. When we popped in for a chat, a legendary artist from Warsaw was literally test-driving a piano for their next tour. If that’s not a stamp of approval, what is?

From Baby Grands to Big Dreams

What’s cool about this place is the range. Sure, there are those jaw-dropping concert grands that make your jaw drop and your wallet cry, but you’ll also find compact pianos starting around 6000 PLN – perfect for rookies, kids starting their musical journey, or apartment dwellers with tight space but big dreams.

We also caught up with Magdalena, Bohdan’s right hand in running the house. She’s a walking encyclopedia of piano love, with a background in Japanese studies (fitting, since Yamaha pianos are top-tier favorites here). Together, she and Bohdan can talk pianos all day – and trust us, you’ll want to listen.

Walking into Piano House feels like stepping into a different realm. Every square meter hums with history and resonance, rows of polished wood and ivory keys practically whispering their stories. It’s a little mystical – the kind of place that makes even non-musicians ask questions, touch the keys, and dream for a second.

Closing Keys

And here’s the kicker: we’ve lined up a full interview with Bohdan himself, plus we’ll be picking our Top 5 pianos in the shop right now. Stay tuned – it’s going to be a good one.

So, if you’re a piano enthusiast, thinking of buying your first instrument, or want to get your kids hooked on piano life, The Piano House is where you start. Drop by for a chat with Magdalena and Bohdan (just don’t expect to leave quickly, because they’ll happily talk pianos till the sun goes down ).
