DOTWORK DREAMS: HOW MARTA KNAS MAKES NATURE COME ALIVE ON SKIN

Yo Poznan!

It’s been a hot minute since we checked in on the city’s tattoo scene, and our inbox has been looking like a flash book gone wild. Everyone keeps asking: “Where do I get ink in Jeżyce without ending up with regret spelled wrong across my ribs?”

With new studios popping up on every corner, it’s hard to separate the heavy hitters from the “maybe stick to doodling in your notebook” crowd. So we did the usual Poznań Daily thing — asked around, dug deep, and one name kept bubbling up like fresh ink in a new needle: Marta Knas.

Here’s what we found out…

From Apprentice to Ink Boss

Marta’s tattoo journey kicked off back in 2014 with an apprenticeship under two fellow artists, Andrzej and Łukasz. Two years later, she went full pro. Fast forward a few more, and boom — her own private studio in Jeżyce was born.

Her first tattoo? A dagger she stuck into her own thigh (talk about commitment). Then came the infamous infinity sign for a friend — which, in true tattoo-artist fashion, she later covered herself. Like most greats, she had to grind through those nerve-wracking beginnings, learning the ropes while reminding herself: yo, this is permanent.

Style That Sticks

Forget cookie-cutter flash sheets. Marta found her lane in dotwork — shading built entirely from tiny dots that come together like pixels on skin. Nature is her muse: plants, animals, bugs, and especially birds. If it flies, crawls, or buzzes, it’s got a shot at becoming one of her delicate, detailed pieces.

And get this — everything’s hand-drawn. No iPads, no fancy software. Just pen on paper, old school. Each design is fully custom, meaning you won’t bump into someone at Stary Browar rocking the exact same ink.

The Vibe

Sit down with Marta and don’t be surprised if the convo flows as easily as the ink. She admits she talks a lot (her words, not ours), but that’s part of her process. Getting inked at her studio isn’t just needles and numbing cream — it’s swapping stories, sharing laughs, and walking out with something you’ll carry forever.

Outside the Studio

When she’s not tattooing, Marta’s out running, traveling the world, or chilling with her dogs. And yes, she still finds time to crack open books in between buzzing machines. Basically, she’s got balance dialed in tighter than your artist’s stencil before a full back piece.

The Spot

Finding her studio the first time can be a mission — think of it as a side quest before the boss fight. After that, it’s easy. (She will drop you a video to save you wandering around Jeżyce looking lost and tattoo-less).

Address: Św. Wawrzyńca 3A/U6, Jeżyce

Final Ink

Here’s the thing — I don’t have a tattoo yet. I know, I know… I’m old, wrinkled, and boring (my words, not yours). But after meeting Marta, I’m honestly tempted to dip my toe into the ink pool. Maybe a symbolic first tat just so I can report back to you guys on what it’s like to finally join the club.

If you don’t wanna wait for me to man up, hit her up yourself. Marta’s highly recommended, and her work speaks louder than any review we could write. Drop into her DMs, and set up a consultation. Just… don’t ask for an infinity sign. Trust us, she’s been there, done that.
