The Spot You Have to Hit This Summer: WakeSpot Owińska, Poznań’s Own Beach Paradise

Yo Poznan!

You ever wake up in Poznań, the sun’s out, and you think, “Man, I need a holiday… like, right now”? Good news: you don’t need a flight, you just need a train ticket and a little swagger.

Hop a 20-minute ride north to Owińska, take a lazy four-minute stroll from the station, and bam — you’re stepping into WakeSpot, a full-blown summer playground with sandy beaches, pizza, a bar, an aqua park for the kids, and wakeboarding for everyone from total newbies to cable park warriors.

We rolled up for a visit and linked with co-owner Paweł — the kind of guy who radiates “permanently on holiday” vibes even while running a full business.

The Backstory

Back in 2012, wakeboarding in Poland was still kinda “What’s that?” territory. Paweł and his schoolmate had just come back from a trip abroad, fired up with inspiration. They borrowed cash from friends and family and built WakeSpot from scratch. No big corporate suits — just grit, water, and dreams. It started with one cable. Now? New investors, upgraded facilities, and a proper wake park. We did our usual Poznań Daily thing — spoke to Paweł in between wakeboarding for some nosy questions.

On the early days:

“Not an instant hit. People didn’t know wakeboarding back then. It took time to grow.”

On his skills:

“Ninja? Nah. But not too bad either.”

Biggest wipeout?

“Turkey, before WakeSpot. Tried an air trick, got wrecked so hard I thought I was back in Poland.”

On cocky beginners:

“Always funny. The more they talk, the harder they fall.”

If WakeSpot didn’t exist?

“Probably tennis or squash. Always been into sports.”

Do you wakeboard every day?

“I wish. Maybe 20 times a year. Running this place comes first.”

The extras

WakeSpot’s got a sauna, a 5°C ice bath for the brave, and DJs spinning at monthly parties. There’s even night wakeboarding under the lights — yeah, it’s as cool as it sounds. Barbecues pop off when the vibe’s right, and the new aqua park means the kids can burn energy while you sip something cold in the sun.

The water? Around 27°C in summer.
The depth? About three meters max.
The crowd? Everyone from 5-year-old groms to 65-year-old legends and lots and lots of pretty girls!

Final Word

Summer’s here, Poland. Get the crew, grab your board (or rent one there), and make a day of it. Insta it, or book your wakeboarding session HERE, tell your mates, and get out there before the summer ends.

Because WakeSpot isn’t just a wake park — it’s Poznań’s own little beach holiday. No passport needed.
