Łazarz is changing fast. 15 of the best restaurants in Lazarz you have to visit before you die

Łazarz has long been known for the City Park complex which has some of the best restaurants, cafes, and shops in Poznań. For a few years, the other parts of the district were mostly ignored by visitors and residents of the area, until recently! Łazarz is fighting back against its unfashionable image and now hosts some of Poznańs coolest cafes and restaurants. Below we have listed our Top 15 places in Łazarz you have to visit if you’re in the area. Have we missed anything?

Włoski Winkiel

Mottego 7

It all started with a dream. It was simple. A small 100% Italian restaurant with 4 table’s to make people happy in their hometown of Poznan. Włoski Winkiel owners, Colett and Grzegorz never imagined though, that they would open it exactly opposite the place Colett lived during her youth. The place where her grandmother taught her how to cook according to old recipes. As Colett told us ‘ I wish my grandmother was still alive to see Włoski Winkiel opposite our old home. She would be very proud!’ Even the name Włoski Winkiel fits the location as it means Italian Corner. After opening 3 years ago during the pandemic, they managed to work through the hard times and have emerged as one of the best pizzerias in Poznan!

Their success is not rocket science and revolves around their three golden rules… authenticity, quality, and zero compromise. This means they cook only authentic Italian food, which can be found in every Italian home. Every day they get a fresh delivery of Italian cold cuts, cheeses, and fresh herbs. Many of the products are d.o.p. certified, which confirms the quality and authenticity of Italian products.

Pakamera

Kanałowa 7, Łazarz

Pakamera Pizzeria was created from great passion, the desire to do “more”, but also by a wealth of knowledge and experience. This is a project that appeared in the heads of Marcel and Macieja a long time ago and for which they worked hard for about two years to make it a reality.

All the pizzas here are incredible, but the Mattia – a bestseller sticks out. A completely non-obvious combination of spicy Calabrian nduja stimulating the senses and creamy Mascarpone and homemade onion jam with the addition of red wine. All topped off with Crema Balsamico di Modena IGP. A must-try item!

Casa Alejandro

Małeckiego 36/1

Spanish flair, tapas, and dozens of wines – if that’s what you’re looking for, be sure to visit La Casa Alejandro – España and Vino. The owner, Alejandro, is half Spanish and half Polish and returned to Poland to share his passion for Spain and offer something as Spanish as it can get!

Projekt Wilson

Matejki 56

Opened already for a few years and is located in a beautiful tenement house on the corner of the streets of Matejki and Siemiradzkiego, vis-a-vis Wilson Park. Deceptively bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside you will find a whole bunch of things to make you happy. Breakfasts, sandwiches, baguettes, lunches, brunch, soups, coffee, cakes, desserts, and best of all it is right next to Wilson Park but also has a very inviting outside seating area in the warmer months

Dzungla Cafe

Głogowska 32

The name Dżungla Cafe (Jungle Cafe) is not just by chance. You will encounter a huge number of plants because its owner wanted to combine her passion for flowers, specialty coffee, people, and beer. They have delicious pastries in the morning and in the evening you’ll sit down for a chat over hoppy drinks.

Vandal Store & Cafe

Strusia 9

A coffee shop with a difference. here you will not only find fantastic alternative coffees and homemade cakes but also a cinema! Very hipster and has a Berlin-esque feel about it. We love this place!

Pączuś i Kawusia

Rynek Łazarski 8

A coffee shop that offers the best possible donuts. You can expect tons of fillings including some classics and not-so-classic coconut cream, pecan nut cream, and various fruit preserves. They also have a long list of alternative coffees to pair with your donut! The Lazarz square has been revitalized so take the opportunity to sit outside and be part of the local community going about their business.

Parle Patisserie

Grunwaldzka 33C

A place where confectionery artistry meets with magical interior design and atypical combinations of flavors. You will find many sweets (macaroons, desserts, cakes, and many more), which are created according to the recipes developed by their chef who gained experience in French confectioners. In addition, PARLE’s offer includes breakfasts, snacks, drinks, and alcoholic beverages. A bit of Paris in Poznań. Highly recommended!

Masz Babo Placek

Kanałowa 3

From the first pretzel to the place where they are today, some time has passed. And we have to be honest we didn’t think they would be open for more than 6 months. Well, I’m glad they have proved us wrong and have become quite a cool place in Łazarz. Known for its homemade precels and crackers taken from the owner’s grandmother’s recipe.  We love all the old furniture which belonged to their grandmother and gives you a real sense of those times. With no additives and preservatives, it’s also a healthy choice. Highly recommend you give them a visit. Really cool place.

Kuchnia PoWolność

Kanałowa 15

A place for vegans to feast on homemade very tasty food. Small, but the food will keep you coming back for more. The owners are very passionate and it shows on the menu. How about this…Green pea and peanut butter burger! Delicious.

Barrio

Wyspiańskiego 13

Barrio is a wine bar and tapas bar in one. Barrio means ‘District‘ which fittingly fits the bill. An impressive collection of Spanish wines are available on site and to take away. For glass, you can expect to pay from 5 zlotys upwards and for bottles from 27 zlotys. The small kitchen prepares fresh, cold, and warm snacks in the style of Spanish tapas every day. Outside the truly Spanish weather, and in the Barrio the perfect solution to the heat – cold white wines. They are perfect for hydration and relaxation after a hard day.
We recommend you try the timeless Alma, created from 100 percent Godello varietal, and inside are nectarines, juicy peaches, citrus, and a pinch of minerality.

Francuski Łącznik

Jana Matejki 67

A cafe/bistro specializing in baking tarts, quiches, pies, and various delicacies that you would expect to see in a French cafe. If its sophistication you are looking for then you have just found it

3 kapary

Jarochowskiego 8

Italian-trained chefs make pizzas here very authentic. Apart from pizza they also serve fantastic Italian pasta – really al dente! Don’t be fooled by the very simple decor. 3 Kapary has been in the top 5 pizza restaurant rankings in Poznan since they opened. They are always busy so might be an idea to reserve a table 🙂

239 klubokawiarnia

Sczanieckiej 10/2

In our opinion one of the best-looking cafes in Poznań. It’s also one of the best breakfast places in Poznań. It gets quite busy around breakfast time, which starts at 9 am (on Saturdays and Sundays at 10) and at lunchtime, so it might be good to book in advance.
