Cafe’s Bold Move Stuns Customers – No More Laptops or Study on Weekends!

Amidst the rise of remote work, the allure of working from cafes became a popular trend. However, not all establishments welcomed this shift with open arms. One café in Poznań took a stand against extended cafe squatting, banning customers from using laptops or studying on weekends.

Taczaka 20, a cozy and well-known café on Taczaka street, found itself grappling with a common grievance among food service workers – patrons lingering for hours with just a single coffee. The tipping point came when a table was monopolized for over two hours on a Saturday morning, leaving other guests without seating options.

In response to this incident, the café owner took to Facebook to announce a new policy: no more working or studying at Taczaka 20 on weekends. This decision stirred up debate online but garnered support from both café employees and fellow industry professionals.

The café’s move reflects a broader sentiment among café owners, with Bartosz Bielicki, owner of another café in Poznań, echoing similar concerns about prolonged occupancy by customers who only purchase one beverage during their stay. It seems there are two emerging sides to this argument. The owners and the clients. Lets see where it takes us!
