Lake Rusałka is ideal for sunset walks, biking and bird watching, but if the birds you’re eager to ogle are the kind without feathers, then head for Rusałka’s north shore.
One of the more popular bathing areas in Poznań due to the fact that it lies within the city borders and boasts a playground, volleyball courts, a beach bar serving drinks, ice cream, waffles and snacks, a large public barbecue area, watersports rental, a stage for concerts and events and last but not least the Rusałka restaurant located in the old boathouse.
With lifeguards on duty this year a lot of energy and investment has gone into making the area more attractive than ever, for both students and families. So, beat the heat and head off to where the locals go.
The easiest way to get there is by cab (about 25PLN), or catch bus 60 from ‘Małe Garbary,’ getting off at ‘Golęcin;’ it’s a 15-20min walk through the woods from there. Although in the summer weekends we recommend getting there before noon. This place gets busy.
