Admission throughout the whole school year at Poznań British International School: Your Child’s Path to Global Excellence

The Poznań British International School (PBIS), the first International school in Poznań, warmly welcomes students from around the globe. With 24 years of experience, PBIS delivers a broad and balanced curriculum entirely in English. Their highly qualified Polish and International Staff implement both the British National Curriculum (BNC) and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), ensuring that pupils achieve fluency in English comparable to native speakers. Polish students also follow the Polish Curriculum (MEiN). You can enrol your child anytime during the school year!

Two Sections

Established in 2000 by Danuta Kościńska-Michalczuk, the school’s mission is to keep students aligned with the British and International School systems while overseas. It is organized into two sections: Early Years – Nursery (ages 3 to 6) and the main School (ages 6 to 15), each with dedicated staff and leadership, fostering a family-like atmosphere where older students mentor the younger ones.

Small Class Sizes

PBIS is renowned for its personalised approach to education, focusing on developing independent thinkers who are resilient, adaptable, and well-mannered. Small class sizes (typically 9 pupils) and subject specialist Teachers ensure that each student receives personalized attention, allowing for a deeper understanding of subjects and the opportunity to exceed standard curriculum requirements.

The School combines whole-class teaching with group work, tailoring lessons to individual levels and covering a wide range of subjects, including Science, IPC, Craft, Art, Design & Technology, Music, Foreign Languages, Mathematics, English, Computing, and Physical Education.

High Standards

High standards encourage pupils to aim high and reach their full potential. This dedication to excellence is reflected in the achievements of PBIS graduates, who continue their education in prestigious institutions worldwide, including Washington, Munich, and top secondary schools in Poznań such as II LO and VIII LO.

Admissions

For admissions, PBIS offers half or full-day visits and assessments depending on the age group. These visits allow pupils and teachers to get acquainted, and provide the school with the opportunity to evaluate the pupil academically and observe their social adaptability to the school ethos. English language skills are not a prerequisite for admission.

During the visit, prospective pupils from Year 1 to 8 are assessed in reading, English, Mathematics, and Science based on the British National Curriculum. Nursery and Reception pupils undergo informal assessments through observation and commitment in activities.

If you are interested in enrolling your child at PBIS, please make an appointment by calling +48 509151501 or email them at office@pbis.edu.pl.
